Synopsis
Dasht-e-tanhai is a music video based on a poem by Faiz Ahmed Faiz, depicting a lover’s longing as akin to treading a desert of loneliness.
Scope
Pre-production planning, location scouting, eq sourcing, crew hiring, and transportation logistics.
My Process
Collaborated closely with the artist during pre-production to map key shots to music beats. Scouted studio location twice—first with the artist to block scenes, then independently to review camera placement and lighting. Managed a two-camera setup including a Dana Solly shot and a 360° gimbal shot. Leveraged vendor relationship with Lightbulb Rentals to secure eq at deeply discounted rates, coordinated crew hiring, and organized transportation of both crew and gear. On set I ensured a faster workflow using the two-cam set-up and proactively solved challenges regarding lighting continuity. Oversaw post-production workflow through rough cuts, color grading, and final delivery to meet the creative vision.
Outcome
Delivered a polished music video that garnered over 308k views on YouTube, balancing artistic intent with logistical execution and demonstrating end-to-end production management.
